Hi RJ,
I had to write and tell you how pleased I am with cabinet you built for me.
When we first talked at the beginning of this collaboration I told you that
I was looking for a 'great execution of a simple design' - quality being the
name of the game. And that is exactly what I got. It's beautiful. The
picture's you sent me didn't remotely do justice.
Also, please accept my apology for the stream of phone calls I made to
discuss the merits of the additional three-eighths here and quarter inch
there that I always seemed to think was important. If it ever tested your
patience you certainly never showed it. I can honestly say that I enjoyed
those conversations. They made the project more personable and the
experience that much more memorable.
So thanks again RJ.
Wishing you nothing but the best,

Well R.J., I
really don't know what to say.........
THANK YOU - I
waited two years to have the right person build this cabinet for me and chose
you after many months of talking to local people in my area. They just didn't
seem to care or want the work. Thanks for listening to me and really grasping
my vision for this spectacular display cabinet. It is much more than I
imagined and, the finish, which I was really nervous about, is perfect. After
going back and forth with samples and pictures you nailed it! I am so pleased
that I intend to dream up another piece to match it. As you know, I am in the
furniture business and run a high-end furniture and design store. I also come
from a family of carpenters so woodworking is all around me. But, your talent
for building fine furniture is showcased in my piece. There is nothing that
compares to American made quality, talent and artistry. You have it all.
Also, your personality and enthusiasm about building this for me, (a total
stranger) is why I selected you to begin with. I thank you from the bottom of
my heart.....it is a masterpiece!

Dear RJ,
The entertainment center you made for us exceeded all our expectations. It was our first experience with someone creating a piece of furniture. It has been a positive experience in every way. Your help in designing and the small details you suggested resulted in an entertainment center which has a common response from all who see it ---Wow!! We hope you will be able to create more for us in the future.

To Whom it may Concern:
When my wife and I decided to have a custom cabinet made based on the bookcase originally designed by Gustav
Stickley, my biggest concern was finding a craftsman who understood the principal's of the ART and Crafts design and had experience with
Stickley style keyed tendons and dark oak finishes. When we met RJ we wound up having a very long and interesting conversation about
Stickley family and Arts and Crafts furniture after which I was confident that RJ not only knew his stuff, but that he was also receptive to our ideas. We already had the original plans for the bookshelf design that we wanted to use, although the dimensions needed to be altered to fit 12" record albums instead of books.
During the construction process, I dropped into the shop several times to see how everything was coming along. R.J. always made me feel welcome and took the time to show me everything he was ding. When it came time to do the finish, I had a couple of ideas in mind which R.J. was very open to The finished product was exactly what we had in mind, which is as great a compliment as I can think of for this piece, being based on the originally Gustav
Stickley design I was very familiar with. I found R.J. not only a very talented artisan, but also extremely honest and open about every aspect of our project. We definitely plan to use him in the future, and I would recommend him without hesitation.
If our cabinet was a product in any of the furniture stores around, I am certain the cost would have been at best comparable and probably more expensive, and the quality would have certainly been far less that what R.J. Built for us.
